Zazzle Dazzles!

I’m a grandmother (What? Do I have pics of the kids?? Why, yes! Yes, I do! I have hundreds! Maybe thousands! Want to see them????? No? Um, oh. Okay.), so I love it when I come across cool gifts for kids.

Zazzle is a very cool site, where you can create unique gifts for not only kids, but grown-ups, too. There are plenty of sites that allow you to upload a picture and have it printed on a tee-shirt or calendar or mug. You can do those things here, but that’s only the beginning. Think Cafe Press on steroids.

At Zazzle, you can create greeting cards, canvas tote bags, custom postage stamps, jewelry, 3-ring binders, and…shoes! Yep, you can customize shoes with pics of whatever you want. Last year, I created a pair for my daughter with pics of her two (utterly gorgeous) kids. She’s a teacher, so she can get away with wearing silly shoes to work—and when she did, all of her coworkers wanted to know where she got the cool shoes.

Last month, I had each of the kiddos draw a picture and then I scanned their artwork into my computer and went to Zazzle to have their pics put on tee-shirts. I chose sizes and colors, added a little text, and added the shirts to the cart. Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. The kids were thrilled to find the shirts tucked into their Easter baskets. Kisses and hugs and squeals of delight.

It’s good to be Grammy. :O)

  9. I think the binders are awesome, but far and away I find the Zazzle site a bit overbearing when I browse other people's creations. There is something not quite aesthetically pleasing about it.

    I love your gift idea for your grandkids. I'm sure that made them feel extra special - like the bonafide artists they are!

  11. There are so many sites with so many really cool things on them. I love Etsy, yet I have nothing to offer creatively to sell there and only a handful of vintage items. But, some of the things there are out of this world. I can only imaging Zazzle's offerings.

    Stopping by from the A-Z Challenge to visit. You can find me at:

  13. @Theresa: Isn't being a grandmother the best?! :O)

    @Sylvie: Love you right back!

    @Gary: I love being Grammy--it's about my favorite thing to be. ♥

    @corallevang: They do have a lot of cool stuff. :O)

    @Sass: I hope your mom finds some stuff she likes. I love being Grammy. It's all of the fun and none of the work and worry of parenting. Life is good. :O)

    @KBalbify: Personalized stuff is always fun. :O)

    @L.L.: Cool! Pass it on!

    @Sandy: It's easy to be Grammy--those kids are pure joy. :O)

    @MiscMayzee: Their home page is a little much. I usually just click on the create tab right away and get to it. :O)

    @Marie Anne: My granddaughter really wanted a pair, but the smallest size they offered was still too big for her. I think this year she's big enough, though. :O)

    @SJerZGirl: I have a friend who makes absolutely gorgeous things to sell on Etsy. I try not to visit her page too often because I'm always tempted to make a purchase. ;O)

    I'm so glad you're doing the Z-A!

  14. Yay! I love Zazzle too, though I forget about them now that there are so many sites opening every day, lol. I think scanning in the kids' art work is a fantastic idea! Think how happy they will be when they get older!

  15. I've never ordered anything from Zazzle, but I like the look of the site!

  16. How do grandmas get so cool? I checked out the site and was excited to see I could make my own posters, been wanting to do that for my office!

  17. @Christine: There really are a bunch of places kind of like Zazzle...it's getting easier and easier to make personalized gifts, and the turnaround time is really fast. Nice. :O)

    @Jolie: Their customer service is really good, too. On my last order, one of the tee-shirt sizes was off so they rushed replacements so that I'd still have everything in time for the holiday.

    @Tamara: Posters! What a great idea!

    I'm happy to meet all of you guys and I'll be sure to stop by your pages later on today!

  20. @Cyndi: When we first found out that we were to become grandparents, our daughter asked my hubby & I what we'd like to be called. I had always thought 'Granny' was the coolest, but I decided on 'Grammy,' which went from Gummy to Gammy to finally Grammy, as our granddaugter learned to talk. My hubby is 'Grampy,' except to the littlest guy, who at not yet two, says "Bumpy." :O)
